DAYTON â
Dayton police have dealt with a busy and bloody week. Theyâre investigating the fifth shooting
death this week.
The latest
shooting happened shortly after 6 Saturday evening on Bancroft Street in
Dayton. Police say the suspect came from
behind and shot a man while he was sitting in a car, killing him.
Police found several bullet casings at the crime scene and say multiple shots were fired into the car.
A motive for
the shooting is unknown at this time, but police believe Saturdayâs shooting is
unrelated to the other shootings this week.
"We're not sure where the motive was but the person that was shot does not have the same background as most of the other victims we've had the last few days" said Lt. Donald Burden, Dayton Police.
Police questioned witnesses and are still investigating.
Weâll continue to follow this story as it develops.
