DAYTON -- The suspect wanted for a January 26 homicide in Springfield was arrested Friday morning in Trotwood.
Police said 29-year-old Julian Johnson was found hiding in the bathroom of an apartment at Castlebrook Apartments after police got a tip he was living there. He was arrested without incident.
According to the SOFAST task force, the Springfield Police Department responded on January 26 to a shots fired call at the Nite Owl Tavern in Springfield. When police arrived, they said they found 34-year-old Ernest Edwards shot dead.
Three other Springfield residents were taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center with gunshot wounds. Detectives said the shooting started because of an argument over a girl. A warrant was issued on January 30 for Julian Johnson for homicide.
He faces a murder and weapons charge.
