DAYTON-- A Dayton man has been indicted on aggravated murder charges in the shooting deaths of his ex-girlfriend and her male friend.
Montgomery County's prosecutor says Harvey Lee Jones was indicted Thursday in the Jan. 24 shootings of 32-year-old Carly Hughley and 29-year-old Demetrius Beckwith. Officials are seeking the death penalty in this case.
Hughley's 10-year-old son witnessed the killings and ran to a nearby apartment for help.
The child is expected to testify against Jones.
"It's always traumatic when you have to rely and put a child through this type of ordeal, but it's something this child is able to do and most children can do. It's not something we like to do," said Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck.
Police say Jones as a violent criminal past.
