UPDATE:Men in Double Fatal Crash Identified

MONTGOMERY COUNTY--- Miami Township Police said the car being chased in last night's deadly chase, was wanted in connection to a criminal investigation.  

Police said a crime occurred shortly before the crash, and police were looking for the white Impala.
                     
Police are releasing few details about the initial crime, but said officers tried to pull over the white Impala, but the driver wouldn't stop.
 
Phillip Lane, 23, and Erik Sanford were killed in the crash. A third young man in the white car,  a teen, was also taken to the hospital with injuries.

Witnesses said the white car was traveling about 100 mph when it crashed into another car on 741 near Cobblegate Drive.     
      
"I saw the white car go flying, with a bunch of cops following it." Witness Lindsey Breitenstein said.

The woman  in the other vehicle was taken by helicopter to the hospital  with serious injuries. Her name is not being released. 

"I am hurting." Michelle Vaughn, Lane's cousin said.    

Vaughn wishes she could give her cousin some advice that could've changed the deadly outcome.                           

 "It's not worth it.  Just pull over. You  are risking your own life you are risking other peoples lives.  There could've been kids involved in this accident.  Its not worth it,  just pull over." 
 
Vaughn and her family left balloons on the side of 741 near the crash site.

MORAINE -- Two people have died after a two-car crash on State Route 741, near Cobblegate Drive.

They've been identified as 23-year-old Phillip Lane Jr. and 24-year-old Erik Sanford; both are from Dayton.

It started out as a chase. Police were following the white Impala, but called off the pursuit after deciding it was getting too dangerous.

Moments later, the Impala slammed into another car. Witnesses say the Impala was traveling around 100 mph. Two people inside the Impala were pronounced dead at the scene.

One woman in the other car was flown to the hospital by CareFlight. A third man inside the Impala survived the crash and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

MORAINE -- One person has died, and another was flown to the hospital by CareFlight, after a violent crash in Moraine.

The crash happened on State Route 741 near Cobblegate around 8:45 p.m. Multiple police agencies responded to the scene. One person had to be cut out of one of the vehicles. That victim was rushed to a waiting CareFlight helicopter.

Witnesses say the white car was speeding down 741.

"We were working inside Dairy Queen up the street," Lindsey Breitenstein, a Dairy Queen employee told us. "And we seen some kind of commotion and saw a white car going fast. Then there was like a bunch of cop cars following it. We weren't really sure. We asked a customer and said was a chase then come down here and see this."

Officers have not given official information about this crash yet.

MORAINE -- Multiple police crews on the scene of a fatal crash on State Route 741 near Cobblegate Road in Moraine.  The roadway is shut down from Cobblegate to Dixie Drive.

Our crew on the scene says two cars are involved.  Crews have been working for a while to extricate a person from one of those vehicles.  CareFlight is on scene to take that person to the hospital.
