DAYTON -- Charmin DeWitt spends her days in front of the TV. She barely survived a seizure and stroke.
"I couldn't do anything, I couldn't move nothing in my body. God healed my body," said the 43 year old. Visiting nurses now care for her at home.
She used to live at Arbors at Dayton, an assisted living and rehab facility. In the Spring of 2012, Charmin says a worker hit her.
"She started hitting my forehead. She was playing with it you know like a basketball. and pounding my forhead and it was still red."
Norma Black's indicted on a charge of Patient Abuse, which is a felony. We spoke to Black at her door. She would only talk to us if we didn't show her face.
"They're telling a damn lie, and I will tell them in their face like I told them time and time again. They just telling a damn lie," said Black was was suspended then fired. The facility reported it to the state, and a grand jury indicted her.
"I always play with the residents and they enjoy it you know? They wanted to get rid of me, and that's what they did."
Black did not seem to understand she was facing a criminal charge.
"I had a piece of paper or some mess they gave me," said a black. When told she is due in court on May 28th at 8:30 in the morning before a Judge she responded, "No I'm not, no I'm not, I ain't got nothing to do with that."
Charmin says she doesn't believe Black wanted to hurt her, but she did take her playing too far.
"I can't do anything to protect myself or anything. So when people do stuff to me, there's nothing I can do about it."
