DAYTON--Police arrested a 17 year old after they said the teen left a baby unattended, inside a hot car.
Dayton police were dispatched to 4303 West Third Street about 6pm on Thursday on a welfare check.
Aldi Food Mart Security told police they found the infant inside the car in the parking lot with the windows rolled up, and the car unlocked.
Officers were able to check on the baby, who was crying, but okay.
Eventually a 17 year old male came back to his car and told police the infant was his cousin and he was baby-sitting.
Police contacted the baby's mother, who confirmed the teen was baby-sitting but told officers " he is never watching my kid again."
The teenager was arrested for child endangering, and summoned into court.
