SOUTHWEST OHIO --  Champaign County is under a level two snow emergency.  That means, roads are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow.  Only those who feel it's necessary to drive should be on the roadways.  Employees should contact their employer to see if they need to report to work.

Meanwhile, Logan County is under a Level 1 emergency, which means there are dangerous driving conditions with snow-covered roads.

Both counties have reported  numerous traffic crashes on Friday.  Wind gusts in the Miami Valley reached as high as 50 miles per hour throughout the day.

The morning commute was tough for some drivers.
A car  flipped onto its top near the intersection of Ohio 49 and US 40. Troopers said the driver hit a patch  of ice,  lost control  and went into a ditch.  Troopers said  he was wearing his seat belt, and was able to climb out and wasn't injured.

"It could've been pretty bad.  You can see damage to the vehicle but that is where seat belts  play an important factor, especially on days like today."
Sgt. Jeff Kramer, of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

A semi truck driver saw the crash and attempted to brake,  and jack knifed on the slippery roads,  blocking the high way.

The semi truck was not damaged.
