DAYTON--Fortunately, the windy and icy conditions had a relatively small impact on people flying out of Dayton International Airport today.
Crews kept busy through the night and morning hours; keeping the runways clear and de-icing planes so they could safely land and take-off.
However, bad weather in places like Chicago, Minneapolis and Detroit has affected travelers trying to make connections.
"The biggest thing we're seeing today is people are getting delayed and missing connections at their hubs and they got to try to get rebooked," said airport director Terry Slaybaugh.
Airport officials believe as the evening continues, there will be less delays as the winter weather moves to the east.
