DAYTON -- The Dayton Fire Department responded Monday afternoon to a roof awning that collapsed on top of two workers.
The accident happened off Wyoming and St. Paul streets after workers were adding railings to the porch.
Fire officials say one man was able to crawl out, but a second had to be rescued.
That man is expected to be okay.
Authorities with the city's building inspection say the men did not have a permit to work on the vacant apartment building.
They say people need to be aware of rotting wood, water damage and termite damage on structures with old wood.
