UPDATE: Woman Killed After Car Hits Tree in Miami County
MIAMI CO. -- Miami County Sheriff's Deputies are working to learn the identity of a woman killed in a single-car wreck.
That wreck was reported just before 2:00 Friday morning on State Route 48 at Marlin Road. That's between Pleasant Hill and Covington.
Police tell us speed was likely the cause of the crash. They say she likely took a hill and curve too fast, forcing her car onto its side.
However, they do not know exactly when the crash happened. The car was cold when they arrived on scene.
The license plate on the woman's car does not come back to the car, which is also making it harder for deputies to determine who the victim is and where she's from.
SR 48 will be down to one lane for a couple of hours this morning. The crash remains under investigation.
